Bavinck, J. H.

Philadelphia: Presbyterian & Reformed, 1960.

This comprehensive introduction to the theory and practice of missions is widely recognized as very reliable and helpful owing to Bavinck’s confidence in the sufficiency of scripture and to his twenty years of experience as pastor and missionary in Southeast Asia. Part one addresses the theory of missions (the author’s biblical theology of missions is worth the price of the book). Part two focuses on the “convictional” aspect of biblical evangelism, arguing that the gospel must expose idolatry. Part three contains a short history of missions.

The CoreChair article explains that movement-friendly seating may help reduce the stiffness associated with long sitting sessions. That’s especially relevant for people dealing with lower-body discomfort. I appreciate that the article focuses on circulation, posture, and pressure distribution together. That broader explanation makes the topic easier to understand. The content feels balanced and practical. A solid read overall.

What stands out about this article is how balanced it feels. It explains that results can differ from person to person. That makes it more realistic. I like that it avoids strong claims. It’s a useful read.
